I have been on the Design Thinking team with Wish for WASH for the past 2.5 years, which has continuously been a fun and rewarding way to grow personally and professionally. This fall has been my first semester leading the DT team, and it has been a great experience so far. We had a busy semester hosting Design Jams, onboarding new team members, designing new user personas, and working on educational design thinking resources. Throughout these few months, I have had many opportunities to improve my design thinking, public speaking, and leadership skills. After taking notes and coaching for a number of Design Jams over the past couple of years, I had the opportunity this semester to develop my facilitation skills as well, which involved introducing concepts, managing timing, and instructing participants during these workshops. This initially seemed daunting, but I have enjoyed facilitation, and I’m looking forward to continuing to develop this skill set. As we move into the next semester, I am excited for a number of our upcoming Design Jams, and to continue to improve and broaden the reach of education on WASH related issues. — Eliza
